Key dates for next quarter (April – June)

Staying on top of key tax and compliance dates is always important, especially as we approach the end of the financial year. Here are some key financial dates and lodgement deadlines for the April-June Quarter, for both individuals and businesses.

April 2026

  • 21 April – March monthly Business Activity Statement (BAS) due (for businesses that report monthly)
  • 28 April – January-March quarterly BAS due (for businesses that report quarterly)
  • 28 April – Superannuation Guarantee (SG) contributions for the January-March Quarter must be received by employee’s superfunds

May 2026

  • 12 May – The 2026‑27 Federal Budget is scheduled to be delivered
  • 15 May – Income Tax Returns for the 2024-25 Financial Year due for many individuals, trusts and companies lodging through a tax agent (where not required earlier)
  • 21 May – Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) return due if lodging by paper
  • 21 May – April monthly BAS due
  • 26 May – Extended due date for January-March quarterly BAS when lodging electronically through a tax agent
  • 28 May – FBT return due for many businesses lodging electronically

June 2026

  • 21 June – May monthly BAS due
  • 25 June – Extended due date for FBT returns lodged through tax agents (where eligible)
  • 30 June – Last day to access the Small Business Superannuation Clearing House (SBSCH)
  • 30 June – Trust distribution resolutions must generally be made before the end of financial year
  • 30 June – End of the 2025–26 financial year (EOFY)
