Tell us about what you do at dmca and your favourite thing about it.
As the Director for Taxation and Business Services, there is always a problem to solve and many ways in which it can be approached. The more intricate the problem, the more I enjoy the process of working with a client to provide the best possible solution for them.
What are you most grateful for?
I’m always grateful for my health, friends and family. There are many things I wish to do in the future, so I want to retain my health and have many friends and family to share my next adventures with.
What’s the best advice you have ever been given about money and finance?
My grandfather and father have always instilled in me a sense of being mindful with your money. Don’t get caught out buying cheap disposable items. Be prepared to pay more for an item of quality that you know will last and likely save you money over the journey.
What do you do outside work to unwind?
Outside of work, I have always been involved in community sport as a player, supporter and volunteer. If I am involved with a community club, I like to help in the knowledge that the more people involved will make for a better club for all those involved.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
While studying at university, I was employed as a carpenter/furniture manufacturer at Midas Furniture, which specialised in pine furniture. When not studying, I was working 20 hours per week making tables, beds, etc and then delivering them to our many clients around Adelaide in a small furniture truck. I would often turn up to university lectures with some sawdust still stuck to me.
What’s the one thing you can’t do without (and why)?
I couldn’t do without the people around me. As I enjoy interacting with people, it’s my daily interaction with my team at work, ongoing interactions with our clients and of course my friends and family that make every day different and enjoyable.
Anything else to share?
Hopefully a glass of red wine when we hold our next client function at the dmca offices.
